Teen Piano Performance Opportunities
Performance is such a satisfying part of playing the piano that I want all students to have the opportunity to showcase their skills. The Center provides two recitals each year, complete with on-site rehearsals. During rehearsals, we discuss concert etiquette and practice performing for other students.
Middle School and High School students are also invited to perform their pieces at a local senior center. The concert — before a very appreciative audience — gives students a focal point for their practice that helps keep them motivated and progressing. The senior center performance is a wonderful way to do something good for the community while sharpening each student’s own performance skills. We hold on-site rehearsals at the senior center prior to each event, just like I do for the recitals. This ensures that students feel comfortable and confident before each event.
